PARIS, Dec 9 (Reuters) - France's trade deficit hit record levels in October as demand for French goods wilted due to slowing economic growth in neighbouring countries and overseas, data showed on Tuesday.
The October deficit swelled to 7.066 billion euros, well above the consensus forecast of 5.65 billion euros and a revised 5.961 billion in September.
In a separate announcement, the budget ministry said France's budget deficit at the end of October grew to 60.7 billion euros from 52.7 billion in the same period last year. (Reporting by Anna Willard and Tamora Vidaillet, editing by Mike Peacock)
