WASHINGTON, Feb 11 (Reuters) - The United States posted a $569 billion budget deficit for the first four months of fiscal 2009, a record for this period, the U.S. Treasury said on Wednesday.
In January, the government posted a deficit of $83.82 billion versus a year ago surplus of $17.84 billion and Wall Street forecast for a deficit of $78 billion. (Reporting by Nancy Waitz; Editing by Neil Stempleman)
