NEW YORK, Sept 16 (Reuters) - The dollar pared losses against the yen on Wednesday after a government report showing a rise in U.S. consumer prices.
Against the yen, the dollar rose to 90.44 from 90.34 previously, though still down 0.67 percent on the day. The euro fell to $1.4661 EUR=>, from $1.4676 before the data's release, and hovered near the session low of $1.4655.
The Labor Department said its closely watched Consumer Price Index rose 0.4 percent in August, after having been flat in July, a touch above expectations for a 0.3 percent gain. (Reporting by Nick Olivari; Editing by Theodore d'Afflisio)
