NEW YORK, Nov 16 (Reuters) - The dollar index climbed to its highest since Sept. 30 on Tuesday as concern about fiscal problems in peripheral euro zone nations boosted risk aversion.
The dollar index was last up 0.43 percent at 78.856 after going as high as 78.844.
The euro was down 0.1 percent against the dollar at $1.3572, near the session low, while the dollar was up 0.1 percent against the yen at 83.26 yen. (Reporting by Nick Olivari; Editing by James Dalgleish)
