NEW YORK, Oct 16 (Reuters) - The dollar extended gains against the euro on Friday, after data showed U.S. consumer sentiment eased in October.
The euro fell to $1.4879 from $1.4889, down 0.4 percent on the day. The dollar rose to 91.05 yen from 91.00 yen before the release of the report.
The Reuters/University of Michigan preliminary October consumer sentiment survey posted at 69.4 compared with the 73.5 expected. It was at 73.5 in the final reading for September. (Reporting by Nick Olivari; Editing by James Dalgleish)
