PARIS, Nov 13 (Reuters) - French consumer prices dropped month-on-month in October, pulled down by falling energy prices, official data showed on Thursday.
On an EU-harmonised basis prices fell 0.1 percent, according to a report from national statistics office INSEE, a smaller drop than the 0.2 percent fall forecast in a Reuters poll.
Prices were up 3.0 percent on the year.
Overall energy prices dropped 3.7 percent on the month while prices for oil products fell 5.9 percent.
A separate report showed the current account deficit narrowed to 4.0 billion euros ($5.05 billion) in September from an unrevised 4.2 billion euros in August. (Reporting by Anna Willard, editing by Mike Peacock)
