ISTANBUL, Aug 4 (Reuters) - Foreigners purchased a net $327 million of shares in companies traded on the Turkish bourse in July, according to figures from the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
Foreigners last month bought $4.06 billion worth of shares and sold $3.73 billion, the exchange said.
Banks drew the most interest from foreigners, who bought a net $45.8 million of Yapi Kredi , $36.1 million of Garanti, $23.1 million of Vakifbank, $20.6 million of Isbank, $16.9 million lira of Akbank and $16.9 billion lira of Halk Bank.
Foreign investors purchased a net $62.8 million worth of shares in Koc Holding, Turkey's biggest company by sales, and $16.2 million of leading mobile-phone operator Turkcell, the exchange said.
Among the most-sold shares were flag carrier Turkish Airlines, of which foreigners sold a net $22.9 million and Tupras, the country's sole oil refiner, of which they sold $36.7 million of shares, according to the exchange's figures. (Reporting by Ayla Jean Yackley; Editing by Rupert Winchester)
