BEIJING, March 5 (Reuters) - The Ministry of Finance unveiled China's 2009 budget on Thursday and reported on last year's fiscal performance. Premier Wen Jiabao also highlighted some spending plans in his annual report to parliament.
BUDGET DEFICIT
The ministry projects a total deficit of 950 billion yuan ($139 billion) (less than 3 percent of GDP) this year, compared with 111 billion yuan (0.4 percent of GDP) in 2008.
TARGETS
-- Total national revenue of 6.623 trillion yuan, up 8.0 percent from 2008; the ministry said it would also add 50.5 billion yuan from a stabilisation fund
-- Total national spending of 7.635 trillion yuan, up 22.1 percent
REVENUE TARGETS (central government budget)
-- domestic VAT: 1.4563 trln yuan, up 7.9 pct
-- domestic sales taxes: 443.4 bln yuan, up 72.7 pct
-- import tariffs: 989.5 bln yuan, up 8 pct
-- corporate income taxes: 760.5 bln yuan, up 6 pct
-- individual income taxes: 239 bln yuan, up 7 pct
-- stamp tax: 24.5 bln yuan, down 74.2 percent
-- tariff receipts: 160 bln yuan, up 11.7 percent
-- vehicle purchase tax: 97 bln yuan, down 2 pct
