TOKYO, Aug 3 (Reuters) - The euro surged to a two-month high against the dollar on Monday and edged close to its highest in seven months, as the dollar extended its broad losses after sterling jumped on stop-loss buying.
The euro climbed to as high as $1.4310 on trading platform EBS, its highest since June 3. A rise above $1.4339 would take it to its highest since late December.
After trimming some gains, the euro was 0.2 percent higher on the day at $1.4285. (Reporting by Masayuki Kitano)
