TOKYO, Sept 11 (Reuters) - The euro hit its highest level this year against the dollar on Friday as broad dollar selling gathered pace after China data buoyed hopes for the global economy, prompting investors to sell the low-yielding U.S. dollar for other riskier currencies.
The euro rose as high as $1.4620 on trading platform EBS, its highest since December 2008, before trading at $1.4612, up 0.2 percent on the day. (Reporting by Satomi Noguchi)
