BRUSSELS, Jan 15 (Reuters) - The European Union's top business group said on Thursday the escalation of a trade row between the 27-nation bloc and the United States was "unfortunate at a time of economic difficulty".
The EU's trade chief said earlier she was preparing a case against the United States at the World Trade Organisation over Washington's revision of a list of EU goods hit with retaliatory duties.
"The EU and the new U.S. administration must work together to resolve this dispute amicably and in full repect of WTO rules," Eoin O'Malley, BusinessEurope's senior adviser on international trade, told Reuters. (Reporting by Darren Ennis, editing by Dale Hudson)
