NEW YORK, July 21 (Reuters) - The dollar extended its losses against the yen but edged up versus the euro on Tuesday after Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke gave what some analysts saw as a less than upbeat assessment of the U.S. economy, curbing risk appetite.
Bernanke, in his testimony on the U.S. economic outlook and monetary policy before the House of Representatives Financial Services Committee, said job losses remained high and that the central bank's highly accommodative monetary policy could stay for an extended period. See [ID:nWEQ001226].
