Investing.com - The dollar was lower Thursday ahead of U.S. data as the euro held above $1.04 with eyes on Monte dei Paschi.
The dollar index was off 0.08% at 102.94 at 02:15 ET ahead of U.S. Q3 GDP data.
Durable goods and jobless claims data are also due for release.
The euro was up 0.18% at $1.0446 as the close of Italian bank Monte dei Paschi's capital hike exercise neared.
The world's oldest bank reportedly has failed to find an anchor investor in its €5 bn debt-for-equity swap.
That could spark a rescue package by the Italian government.
The dollar edged up 0.08% to 117.68 yen.
