TOKYO, Sept 2 (Reuters) - The dollar fell to a seven-week low against the yen on Wednesday after a U.S. stock sell-off prompted investors to cut yen short positions against riskier and higher-yielding currencies.
The dollar dropped as low as 92.51 yen on trading platform EBS, the lowest since mid-July, before trading at 92.68 yen, down 0.2 percent on the day.
The euro was down 0.3 percent at 131.69 yen after falling as low as 131.47 on EBS, a seven-week low. (Reporting by Satomi Noguchi)
