TOKYO, July 1 (Reuters) - The dollar edged up against the yen on Wednesday after the Bank of Japan's quarterly tankan survey for June showed big manufacturers' sentiment had improved less than expected.
The dollar rose above 96.30 yen from around 96.25 yen immediately after the release of the data. It then fell back to 96.24, down 0.1 percent from late U.S. trade. (Reporting by Rika Otsuka)
