BEIJING, March 23 (Reuters) - The economic crisis has exposed inherent weaknesses in the global monetary system and underlined the need for creative reform in the search for an international reserve currency that retains its value, People's Bank of China Governor Zhou Xiaochuan said in remarks published on Monday.
The aim should be to come up with a currency underpinned by rules-based issuance and manageable supply "so as to achieve the objective of safeguarding global economic and financial stability", the head of the Chinese central bank said.
