LONDON, March 19 (Reuters) - The worst of the recession may have passed, the Bank of England's chief economist was quoted as saying by the Financial Times newspaper.
Spencer Dale said that a longer slump could not yet be ruled out, but said that "a substantial amount of the total contraction we're going to see has come through." (Reporting by Kate Holton; Editing by Andre Grenon)
