BERLIN, Oct 13 (Reuters) - A contraction in global trade appears to be bottoming out, the head of the World Trade Organisation said on Tuesday.
"On the trade side, the contraction appears to be bottoming out," WTO Director-General Pascal Lamy said at a conference in Berlin.
He added that there was no evidence of the "high intensity" protectionism seen in past downturns, but cautioned that there were smaller threats to free trade.
