BEIJING, Dec 22 (Reuters) - China will increase its imports and reserves of strategic resources in a timely manner as part of its efforts to work towards more balanced trade in 2010, the Ministry of Commerce said on Tuesday.
Overall, the ministry vowed to maintain stability and continuity in its trade-related policies, even while it cautioned that it would be difficult for external demand to return to pre-financial-crisis levels next year.
China will also look to increaase imports of high-tech goods next year, it added in a statement summing up its policy moves in 2009 and plans for next year. (Reporting by Jason Subler and Simon Rabinovitch; editing by Ken Wills)
