HANGZHOU, China, Oct 29 (Reuters) - China has agreed to treat goods made in China by U.S. joint venture firms as domestic products in government procurement tenders, U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk said on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters after two days of high-level talks, Kirk said this was a major priority for American businesses in China.

He also said that China had agreed to submit a revised offer to join the World Trade Organisation's government procurement accord by 2010.

U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke told the news conference that Beijing had agreed to ease market access for U.S. makers of medical devices by scrapping duplicative, redundant regulations. (Reporting by Lucy Hornby; Editing by Alan Wheatley)
