BRUSSELS, Dec 3 (Reuters) - The Belgian economy expanded by 0.1 percent in the third quarter, the central bank said on Wednesday, confirming its initial estimate, although it revised its year-on-year figure.
Seasonally adjusted gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 1.3 percent year-on-year, compared with an initial figure of 1.2 percent, the bank said in publishing final data.
Quarter-on-quarter growth in the first and second quarters of 2008 was 0.4 and 0.3 percent respectively.
The bank reported that the contribution to GDP of the service sector grew by 0.2 percent and for construction by 0.4 percent, while that for manufacturing fell by 0.5 percent.
Corporate investment fell by 1.0 percent after five successive quarters of increase, while household spending and investment stagnated.
Exports of goods and services fell by 0.6 percent. Imports stabilised. (Reporting by Philip Blenkinsop and Anne Jolis)
