Asian markets turned mixed in late trading on Monday after slipping earlier in the day, with a number of key indices making slight gains.
South Korea's Kospi Composite Index gained 0.25%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index was up 0.08% and Japan’s Nikkei 225 Index rose 0.07%.
The Shanghai Composite Index, however, dropped 1.6% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 fell 1%.
The outlook for European markets, meanwhile, was dim as France’s CAC 40 futures indicated a drop of 0.77%; Germany's DAX futures pointed to a decline of 0.45%; EURO STOXX 50 futures indicated a fall of 0.7%; and Britain's FTSE 100 futures pointed to a decline of 0.54%.
But U.S. markets had a favorable outlook, as Dow Jones industrial average futures indicated a rise of 0.27%, S&P 500 index futures pointed to an increase of 0.28% and Nasdaq 100 futures indicated a rise of 0.38%.
