PARIS, Oct 21 (Reuters) - Veolia Environnement said its board named Antoine Frerot as new chief executive of the French water, waste and transport group if Chairman and CEO Henri Proglio takes over as head of power group EDF.
Proglio would stay on as non-executive chairman, Veolia said in a statement on Wednesday. Frerot currently heads Veolia Water.
Proglio is set to become chairman and CEO of EDF in November.
The board also recommended creating the post of vice-chairman of the board and appointing independent director Louis Schweitzer to the position. (Reporting by Dominique Vidalon; Editing by James Regan)
