NEW YORK, Sept 9 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks extended gains on Wednesday after positive broker comments buoyed the industrial sector, while the falling dollar pushed up oil prices and shares of energy producers.
* The Nasdaq outperformed the other indexes as eBay rose after Bernstein raised its rating to "outperform" from "market perform" and raised its price target to $28 from $24.
* The Dow Jones industrial average rose 58.72 points, or 0.62 percent, to 9,556.06. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index gained 7.61 points, or 0.74 percent, to 1,033.00. The Nasdaq Composite Index jumped 21.33 points, or 1.05 percent, to 2,059.10. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; Editing by Kenneth Barry)
