Investing.com - Ulta Beauty Inc (NASDAQ:ULTA)shares were falling on Friday, despite the company’s report of better-than-expected results in the second quarter.
The beauty retailer earned $1.82 per share (adjusted) on revenue of $1.29 billion. The EPS result was $0.05 more than analysts were expecting and revenue was $10 million higher and up 20.6% versus the comparable quarter.
Comparable sales rose 11.7% in the quarter, transactions increased 5.5%, the average ticket size was up 6.3% and e-commerce sales rose 72.3% to $96.3 million.
Looking forward, Ulta sees third quarter revenue of $1.331 billion to $1.353 billion versus the $1.33 billion consensus and third quarter EPS of 1.33 to $1.38 versus $1.38 consensus.
Ulta's shares were down 8.4% in afternoon trade.
