Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Footwear & Textile and Palm Oil sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP) added 10.32% or 7.10 points to end at 75.90 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 9.09% or 0.10 points to 1.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD), which fell 11.05% or 198.90 points to trade at 1601.00 at the close. Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) declined 8.33% or 0.100 points to end at 1.100 and Sathosa Motors PLC (CM:SMOT) was down 7.52% or 22.20 points to 273.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 119 to 100 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP) rose to all time highs; rising 10.32% or 7.10 to 75.90.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.58% or 0.71 to $45.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.69% or 0.83 to hit $50.35 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.21% or 2.30 to trade at $1091.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.08% to 208.500, while USD/LKR rose 0.10% to 133.745.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 97.42.
