At the close of U.S. trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.59%, the S&P 500 index gained 1.72%, while the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 1.93%.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, European stock markets closed higher. France’s CAC 40 was up 0.66%; Germany’s DAX gained 0.62%; Britain’s FTSE 100 climbed 1.52%; and the EURO STOXX 50 rose 0.35%.
