UFC fighter Desmond Green was charged in Broward County, Fla., with four counts of DUI manslaughter and other charges in connection with a five-vehicle crash nearly a year ago that killed two people.
Green, 29, was arrested Tuesday. According to Broward County Jail records, he faces 20 charges in all, including four counts of DUI causing serious bodily injury, operating a vehicle with a suspended driver's license, and possession of marijuana and cocaine.
His bond was set at $194,000.
A spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol, Alvaro Feola, told reporters in August that Green lost control of his Dodge Durango around 6 a.m. on August 18 on Interstate 75 in Davie, Fla., veering into the path of a tractor-trailer and causing a chain-reaction collision with three other vehicles.
Green sustained minor injuries, but two people -- 67-year-old Emelina Morfa and 76-year-old Emma Suarez Hernandez -- died. Two others were seriously injured and hospitalized for surgery.
Green (23-8) has fought three times since the crash. Nicknamed "The Predator," he has won his past two fights, most recently a unanimous decision over Charles Jourdain at UFC Fight Night on May 18 in Rochester, N.Y., Green's hometown.
