TOKYO, Oct 8 (Reuters) - Japan's current account surplus fell 5.8 percent in August from a year earlier, Ministry of Finance data showed on Friday, a smaller fall than the median market forecast for a 17.6 percent decline.
That followed a 26.1 percent rise in the previous month.
The surplus stood at 1.1142 trillion yen ($13.53 billion), against a median forecast for 975 billion yen.
