Investing.com – Activity in France's services sector increased at a faster rate than forecast in June, a monthly survey of purchasing managers showed on Wednesday.
In a report, the market research group Markit said its purchasing managers' index for the sector rose to 61.6 during the month, a 46-month high, up from 61.4 in May, whose figure was revised down from 61.9.
Economists had expected June's reading to come in at 61.2.
Following the release of the data, the euro was up against the U.S. dollar, with EUR/USD gaining 0.14% to reach 1.2288.
