YOKOHAMA, Nov 14 (Reuters) - Leaders of the 21-member Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum issued a statement on Sunday, calling for balanced growth in the fast-growing region and promising to refrain from competitive devaluation of currencies.
"We will move toward more market-determined exchange rate systems and enhance exchange rate flexibility to reflect underlying economic fundamentals and will refrain from competitive devaluation of currencies," the statement issued by the Japanese foreign ministry said.
