NEW YORK, June 24 (Reuters) - Wall Street opened higher on Wednesday after data showed surprisingly strong May durable goods orders and ahead of a Federal Reserve policy meeting later in the day.
* Adding to optimism, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development said the economic outlook has improved for the first time in two years.
* The Dow Jones industrial average gained 43.08 points, or 0.52 percent, to 8,365.99. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index gained 6.12 points, or 0.68 percent, to 901.22. The Nasdaq Composite Index gained 15.71 points, or 0.89 percent, to 1,780.63.
