NEW YORK, July 14 (Reuters) - U.S. stock indexes turned positive on Tuesday, lifted by the energy sector's advance, which offset retail sales data pointing to weak consumer demand.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 14.43 points, or 0.17 percent, to 8,346.11. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index gained 2.83 points, or 0.31 percent, to 903.88. The Nasdaq Composite Index added 4.05 points, or 0.23 percent, to 1,797.26. (Reporting by Rodrigo Campos; editing by Jan Paschal)
