NEW YORK, Aug 5 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks extended losses on Wednesday ahead of data on the services sector and factory orders.
* The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 46.40 points, or 0.50 percent, to 9,273.79. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index dropped 4.17 points, or 0.41 percent, to 1,001.48. The Nasdaq Composite Index dropped 10.35 points, or 0.51 percent, to 2,000.96.
