NEW YORK, June 12 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks opened lower on Friday as commodity prices fell, while investors looked ahead to consumer confidence data for insight into the prospects for spending, a key driver of the economy.
* U.S. dollar rebounds sharply.
* The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 32.12 points, or 0.37 percent, to 8,738.80. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index fell 5.65 points, or 0.60 percent, to 939.24. The Nasdaq Composite Index lost 13.09 points, or 0.70 percent, to 1,849.28.
