NEW YORK, Oct 15 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks opened lower on Thursday after quarterly results from Goldman Sachs Group and Citigroup Inc underwhelmed investors after a strong showing from JPMorgan a day before.
The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 32.19 points, or 0.32 percent, to 9,983.67. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index fell 5.07 points, or 0.46 percent, to 1,086.95. The Nasdaq Composite Index lost 11.07 points, or 0.51 percent, to 2,161.16.
