NEW YORK, June 9 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks added to gains on Tuesday led by a rise in semiconductor shares, as Texas Instruments Inc raised its quarterly forecast, signaling improving demand in the chip market.
* The PHLX semiconductor index rose 4.5 percent.
* The Dow Jones industrial average gained 19.58 points, or 0.22 percent, to 8,784.07. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 4.91 points, or 0.52 percent, to 944.05. The Nasdaq Composite Index added 20.15 points, or 1.09 percent, to 1,862.55.
