NEW YORK, Aug 7 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks extended gains on Friday, with the S&P 500 rising more than 2 percent after stronger-than-expected non-farm payroll data lifted investor optimism and pushed the S&P 500 to a 10-month high.
* The Dow Jones industrial average gained 177.22 points, or 1.91 percent, to 9,433.48. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index gained 20.63 points, or 2.07 percent, to 1,017.71.
