NEW YORK, Oct 23 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks fell on Friday, with the Dow slipping below the 10,000 mark, as weak results from industrial companies overshadowed robust earnings from tech heavy-weights.
* The Dow Jones industrial average was down 109.13 points, or 1.08 percent, to end unofficially at 9,972.18. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 13.31 points, or 1.22 percent, to finish unofficially at 1,079.60. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 10.82 points, or 0.50 percent, to close unofficially at 2,154.47.
* For the week, the Dow industrials slipped 0.2 percent, the S&P 500 fell 0.7 percent and the Nasdaq dipped 0.1 percent. (Reporting by Edward Krudy; Editing by Jan Paschal)
