NEW YORK, July 10 (Reuters) - The Dow industrials and S&P 500 ended lower on Friday on worries that an economic recovery and corporate profits will be anemic, while the Nasdaq ended modestly higher.
Based on the latest available data, the Dow Jones industrial average was down 36.65 points, or 0.45 percent, to end unofficially at 8,146.52. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 3.55 points, or 0.40 percent, to finish unofficially at 879.13. But the Nasdaq Composite Index rose 3.48 points, or 0.20 percent, to 1,756.03.
For the week, the Dow was down 1.6 percent, the S&P 500 was down 1.9 percent and the Nasdaq was down 2.3 percent. (Reporting by Caroline Valetkevitch; Editing by Jan Paschal)
