TOKYO, Oct 7 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average rose 0.6 percent on Wednesday, with bank shares such as Mizuho Financial Group higher after optimism about the global economy and U.S. corporate earnings boosted Wall Street.
The benchmark Nikkei rose 58.44 points to 9,750.24, after inching up 0.2 percent the previous day.
The broader Topix added 0.6 percent to 876.59. (Reporting by Aiko Hayashi)
