TOKYO, July 2 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average rose 0.5 percent on Thursday, lifted by exporters such as Honda Motor Co after manufacturing data from Europe, China and the United States boosted hopes for a recovery in the global economy.
The benchmark Nikkei gained 53.84 points to 9,993.77. On Wednesday, it briefly touched its highest in about two weeks above 10,000, before ending the day slightly lower.
The broader Topix added 0.6 percent to 933.77. (Reporting by Aiko Hayashi)
