TOKYO, Oct 2 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average hit a two- month low on Friday after data stirred worries that the U.S. economy's recovery may be losing momentum and as a rise in the yen hit exporters such as Tokyo Electron.
The Nikkei was down 2.5 percent at 9,733.42 by the midday break after falling as low as 9,729.14, its lowest since July 23.
The broader Topix dropped 2.5 percent to 873.46. (Reporting by Masayuki Kitano)
