TOKYO, Aug 14 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average rose 0.3 percent on Friday, lifted by exporters such as Kyocera Corp after better-than-expected earnings by Wal-Mart Stores Inc helped offset disappointing U.S. data on retail sales and jobs.
The benchmark Nikkei added 34.14 points to 10,551.33, nudging back towards a 10-month high of 10,587.36 hit on Tuesday.
The broader Topix inched up 0.1 percent to 969.79. (Reporting by Aiko Hayashi)
