HONG KONG, Aug 18 (Reuters) - Hong Kong shares turned positive in afternoon trade on Tuesday, tracking a rise in the Shanghai stock market, as banks including HSBC recovered from recent losses.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 0.84 percent, finishing 168.62 points higher at 20,306.27, after plummeting to its lowest closing level since end-July on Monday.
The China Enterprises Index, which represents top locally listed mainland Chinese stocks, was up 0.47 percent at 11,448.66, while the Shanghai Composite Index rose 1.4 percent. (Reporting by Sui-Lee Wee; Editing by Chris Lewis)
