BRUSSELS, Sept 16 (Reuters) - European Union antitrust regulators approved on Wednesday Danish natural gas company DONG Naturgas's takeover of German energy wholesaler Kom-Strom, saying the deal would not close off the market to rivals.
The European Commission, competition watchdog of the 27-country EU, said in a statement that "the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European economic area or any substantial part of it".
