BRUSSELS, Sept 10 (Reuters) - The European Commission on Thursday extended its antitrust review of a bid by Japanese electronics maker Panasonic Corp to acquire smaller rival Sanyo Electric Co Ltd.
The competition watchdog of the 27-country European Union extended the deadline for its investigation to Sept. 29 from Sept. 15, a daily list of mergers under review showed.
The EU executive often extends deadlines for merger decisions to consider commitments by the companies aimed at addressing concerns that a deal may be anti-competitive. (Reporting by Bate Felix; Editing by Dale Hudson)
