BRUSSELS, Oct 6 (Reuters) - European Union regulators have raided several drugmakers on suspicion the companies may have breached EU antitrust rules, a European Commission spokesman said on Tuesday.
"I can confirm that the Commission started surprise inspections at several pharmaceutical companies on Oct. 6," spokesman Jonathan Todd said.
He said the Commission, the EU watchdog, had reason to believe the companies may have infringed EU competition rules. He declined to provide details of the companies. (Reporting by Foo Yun Chee; Editing by Dale Hudson)
