Investing.com - The U.S. economy created fewer jobs than expected in September, data showed Friday.
U.S. nonfarm payrolls up 156,000 last month, the Labor Department said.
Economists had expected jobs growth of 175,000.
August’s figure was revised to 167,000 from a previously reported 151,000.
Average hourly earnings up 0.2% from August, in line with forecast.
Dollar index up 0.26% at 96.91 after data vs. rise of 0.35% prior to figures.
