Investing.com - US producer prices rose for a second straight month in May as the cost of energy products jumped.
The producer price index rose 0.4% last month, the Labor Department said, after a 0.2% increase in April.
Economists had been expecting an increase of 0.3%.
Energy prices jumped 2.8% last month after increasing 0.2% in April.
The core PPI, which excludes food and energy and services, dipped 0.1% last month after rising 0.3% in April.
